Culture of Iran

Very recently I came to know about the culture of Iran. I was surprised to know how open, progressive Iranians are compared to other neighbouring country.  In fact the Iran was known as Persia and the culture  was known as Persian.  It was a county living to the highest human values, friendship, quest for knowledge and rational thinking.

As the history moves on and the things changes, Iran also had to face foreign attacks. These peace loving people were not ready for this. Many of them ran away and took refuge to other country. One can still find a whole bunch of Persian population in India and some other country.  The people who could not leave the country were either killed or converted to the religion of Invaders.

The Persian people started to loose their identity and culture, But thanks to some of the dedicated souls who decided to pump oxygen to the dying Persian culture. When I met Iranians I found that Iranians are like a drop of oil in the Islamic waters. They follow Islam, but they are entirely different from the facts world population associate to the Islamic world. They are wonderful, friendly,and generous people.

Knowledge of ancient Hindoos

There is a story where the two sons of lord Shiv had a fight as who is more important and has a better reputation. Lord Shiv proposed that the one who completes a circle around the earth will be accepted as more important. This clearly shows that the ancient Hindoos had a clear concept of earth being round.
Also, according to old sanskrit text goegraphy is called 'Bhu-goal'. Bhu means earth and goal means round or spherical.

The ancient Hindoo astrological system which calculates the effect of clestial bodies on humans takes into consideration the sun, moon and the nine planets, also the equinox. It also explains that the earth and the solar system is in the 'Akash Ganga' or the milky way. not only that if one looks into the old sanskrit text if states that the earth rotates on its axis and also around the sun which is responsible for day and night and different seasons.

This old system also calculates the exact time of solar and lunar eclipses way before the western scientist could ever thought of the rotation of the earth.

The question arises what happened to that knowledge. One should not forget that India was the target of control always because of its wealth and knowledge. And everytime when the people from the outside could get their feet in this country, their main goal was to destroy the culture of hindoos. Which is evident by the destruction of Takshila and Nalanda Universities in Ancent India. Some historians have written that the library at Takshila kept burning for six months. one can easly imagine the volume of collection of books and the knowledge it contained.

If you read about the life and history of top respected Dieties and saints you will notice that all went to school for education whether it was Ram or Krishna or any other person. This proves that Hindoos realised the importance of education well before anyone in the world. The modern numbers, decimal (Sanskrit DASHMALAV SYSTEM) system, and many mathematical opetations were deveploed in India by Hindoos.

Hindoo culture and knowledge started decline after the major attack by middle east countries which started in 8th century BC.

Hindoos had a precise calculation of time. They devised the calander with twelve months, and fiftytwo weeks and 365 days. This time calculation travelled thru arabian countries to Europe which was given different names or equivalent names. for example Sunday ( sanskrit RAVI VAR WHERE RAVI= SUN VAR= DAY, MONDAY = MOON DAY = SANSKRIT SOMVAR where SOM = MOON AGAIN VAR = DAY AND SO ON). One will also be amazed anout the calculation of position and shape of various constellation in the sky was done way before the western scientists.

Hinduism is one of the oldest religion of the world. In fact it is called the 'Sanatan Dharma'. The name Hindu, as some of the historians say, was given by the Arabs who used to come to Indus valley for trade and for education. One should not forget that India was not only a major place of study it was the only source of Education.

Arabian people had some missing sounds so instead pronouncing 'INDU' they were pronouncing 'Hindu' and hence the people living in Indus valley were called Hindoos.

We should also not forget that these Arabian People were a main link for trade and education between India and Europe. Algebra has also emerged from Arabic Al-jabra, because Arabic people used to keep the formulas of Algebra, learned from India, in there upper pocket of shirt.

Hindoos were very stickt in imparting Knowledge. They had a policy of not imparting the knowledge to the non deserving or croocked person. They used to believe that Knowledge is like of double edge sowrd. Person can misused to harm to the society.

So when the time started changing and Hindoos started loosing control, people from various part of the world, especially from the Arabic countries, started coming to India to loot and make a fortune  out of that. As the Indian kings were slowly becoming weak and India had more intensity of attack from the western side, the invadors started to settle in the border areas and tried to establish there kingdom.

These people were very ruthless and barbarian. When they gained power, they started defeating the local Indian kings and started establishing there kingdom. The first major attack on India, from the west side, was from Mohammad Bin Kasim who not only was able to get a lot of wealth in attack but also was able to convert some of the local Hindoos to Muslim religion.

After this it became kind of tidal waves and one after other invaders came to India and were able to establish their kingdom on the major part of Bharatvarsha, the then India. After this the sole goal of the rulers was to convert the local Hindoos to Muslim religion either by force or by bribe.

During this rule hindoos lost their rich tradition and heritage. Many of the scholars were killed as they did not agree to convert. The university at Takshila, now in Pakistan, was burnt by the invaders and it is said that the library which contained a lot of books from centuries, containing the work of a lot of scholars, kept burning for six months.

Hindoos were, as it looks to me, were not great warriors and had no interest in fighting. These people believed more in accommodating. There Holy books and scholars always preached that whole world is like a family and all the human beings are brother and sisters.
